Pain Diary Entry: 18 December 2022

Todays pic from top of Gaislachkogel looking down through the epic gondola into the Otztal valley and Sölden hiding under the clouds far below.
Yesterday was incredible. I was able to forget or ignore the pain every time i was dancing across the mountain face playing in the snow. I kept mainly to the front mountain area as have been ultra cautious this trip and not going to ski today as my body is cooked.
I'm amazed at my stupidity to keep doing this but I'm lucky enough to have the opportunity to learn all those years ago. Enabling me to find my own style and method to get down a mountain in the most enjoyable way possible. I was introduced to snow blades many years ago and they seem to work for me. The fact they allow me to get to places like this is brilliant. I think i see them now like the rest of my walking aids. All i need to do is stand now and let gravity and muscle memory do the work.
No more skiing this trip though, the pain is enough and will last a few weeks. I'm used to not sleeping and got enough to keep busy anyway. I'm refreshed. Let's bring on whatever is happening next 💪
