Pain 5/10.

Location: Wasserbillig, Luxembourg

Pain Diary Entry: 1 October 2022

So this is one of my walking sticks. It’s awkward for me often though as I can on certain surfaces, walk (slowly) without assistance. Mainly soft things like grass or gravel/dirt. On anything in the middle hard like tarmac or wood flooring I can last about 5-10 min walking before the pain becomes very noticeable. And on any really hard floor like concrete in large shopping centres I I last about 100m before my knees start swelling and screaming to stop. So for soft I don’t use any assistance, for middle hard I try to use my stick and for hard I use a wheelchair. Wheelchair is also useful for many events as every networking or business event I’ve been to has never had seating which made it challenging to try and hold professional conversations whilst my knees were trying to buckle and I wanted to cry from the pain.
Didn’t mean that to sound so depressing. It just is how it is. This photo though, I think is a way for me to take my stick on adventures with me and be comfortable that only I know when I need it. And to ignore the stares… I usually manage to ignore other peoples opinions of me as I found out long ago that they don’t matter as im happy with who I am. I enjoy compliments though, as we all should, im only human.
To more adventures!
